Design Components
Trix Circus aerial rings are made of 22mm stainless steel solid bar or from 25mm stainless hollow steel tube.
We use both the results derived from the engineer certification and the NATA destruction tests to create the ratings for these hoops, always being cautious with our recommendations. The ratings below are from a theoretical analysis and do not account for the work hardening processes (EN1993-1-4 Annex B). NATA destruction testing has proven the hoops (in particular the hollow) yield a higher MBS (minimum breaking strain) due to these work hardening processes.
The NATA destruction tested only hoops meet and exceed the requirements stated in Live Performance Australia Guidelines: Safety Guidelines for the Live Entertainment and Events Industries: Event Rigging Hazard Guide (Feb 2018, p. 16).
All hoops sold as NATA Destruction Certified Only (as are the ones available on this webpage) are NOT Engineer Certified nor are they made to a specific Australian Standard. If you’d like to know more about the difference between the types of hoop and certification, please read our blog here.

The above ratings are from the engineering certification process and may not take into account the effect of work hardening from fabrication. *User loads must take into account dynamic forces applied.
We use INSIDE DIAMETER as our measurement. All tabbed hoops are custom made and you may choose any size you desire. Hollow hoops are limited to a maximum size of 95cm INSIDE DIAMETER. Solid hoops do not have this limitation. Please put in the notes the size hoop you require. Manufacture times will be between 2-3 weeks.
Trix Circus aerial rings arrive clean, untaped and ready for you to personalise it as you desire. They come without rigging but you may purchase a spin set or other rigging as required.
